Cabahug began journalism through radio
SEATTLE — Jadenne Radoc Cabahug pitched her first story to National Public radio station KUOW 94.9 FM at age 15 for their RadioActive Youth Media Program. Since pitching her first story, she has pitched countless stories in various forms like podcasts, feature stories and spots.
She has worked individually to create national award winning investigative feature story "Teens are warning each other about sex trafficking on TikTok. Here's why the videos could do more harm than good."
Cabahug has also worked in groups to produce stories like the podcast series "Six months after Parkland: 'Even to this day, it doesn't feel real' which follows the stories of survivors from the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting in Parkland, Florida that killed 17 people including students and staff. Working with other RadioActive students, she localized the national story to Seattle and how students in the area reacted to the shooting.
She has also worked for daily news podcast show Seattle Now, learning how to report and look ahead for the future and contributed for other radio shows like All Things Considered and Morning Edition.
